  • bodyWeight: The mass of an intact organism measured as a whole.
  • freshWetWeight: The mass of an organism or biological tissue measured in its natural hydrated state prior to processing.
  • dryWeight: The mass of an organism or biological tissue measured after complete removal of water by drying to constant mass.
  • postFixationWeight: The mass of an organism or biological tissue measured after it has undergone a fixation process intended to preserve its structural or molecular integrity.

plus:

  • weightType: A terminology that specifies the biological or processing state of a specimen at the time its mass was measured.
