Please add this line next to the existing electoral districts for Gazipur for ease of future maintenance. Additionally, the validFrom should be a full date in YYYY-mm-dd format set for the date of the election.

@crweber-goog As informed over issue tracker, The official election schedule has not yet been announced, and even an approximate election date or week remains undetermined. However, based on the recent statement by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, Bangladesh’s interim leader, the next parliamentary election is expected to be held in February 2026.
Accordingly, we’ve updated the date as 2026-02 for the validFrom and validThrough fields.

However, as per the recent High Court ruling on November 10, the Election Commission’s decision has been declared illegal, and the Court has ordered the restoration of four constituencies in Bagerhat district. https://www.bssnews.net/news/330536

Request you to keep the PR's approval process on hold until the Commission confirms its final decision, after which the OCD ID updates for Bangladesh will be revised accordingly.

Please see below update regarding the Bangladesh constituency demarcation:
Initially, the Election Commission published the revised constituency list on 9 September 2025, which reduced Bagerhat’s seats by one and increased Gazipur’s seats by one. A writ petition was filed in the High Court, followed by a civil petition requesting restoration of the previous boundaries.
According to the reports from news sources, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court upheld the High Court’s decision to cancel the Election Commission’s gazette. This means Bagerhat will retain its four parliamentary seats and no changes will be made to the constituencies.
Following this ruling, the Election Commission recently reviewed the matter and issued the final re-determined boundaries for all 300 constituencies. As a result, Bagerhat’s four seats and Gazipur’s five seats have been fully restored to their original structure.
As per this, no changes are required in Bangladesh OCD ID's and we can close the PR.
