Homepage Elements

Homepage Elements make use of the Plugins Framework but instead of creating a Plugin, they create a HomepageElement object (core.models.HomepageElement). They are currently only loaded from core.homepage_elements, so if you wish to add one you will need to symlink or shortcut the folder in. We will be adding a folder within plugins to load additional homepage_elements.

Configuring the Homepage

Press and Journals both allow users to alter their homepages by using Homepage Elements.

Journals have access to:

  • Carousel
  • News
  • About
  • Current Issue
  • Featured Articles

Press has access to:

  • Carousel
  • News
  • Featured Journals
  • Featured Books

Each plugin element has options that allow you to customise their display. A plain custom HTML block is coming soon.
