@dblock thank you for your work and maintaining the repo in the past.

I have some questions.
If I want to add a new maintainer to this repo, do I just need to add them to CODEOWNERS file or do I also need to contact someone of the opensearch core team?
Do you have time to reviewing #740 before stepping down?
I am not sure if @VachaShah still wants to be a maintainer of this repo, as she also stepped down as maintainer for opensearch, and I am also not sure what the current status of @VijayanB is.

The process is here: https://github.com/opensearch-project/.github/blob/main/RESPONSIBILITIES.md#becoming-a-maintainer. You email other maintainers, get an A-OK and then make a PR with adding them to MAINTAINERS.md and CODEOWNERS. Then you ask to adjust permissions, I used to do this in #admin-requests in Slack, but maybe there's a better way now @krisfreedain.

Done, merged.

I am not sure if @VachaShah still wants to be a maintainer of this repo, as she also stepped down as maintainer for opensearch, and I am also not sure what the current status of @VijayanB is.
