Neutral journeys in trip planning #3665
Description
This issue must be processed and specified before we start to work on a solution.
Expected behavior
Local traffic is often cheaper but takes a longer time than commercial, and there are distances where there is high competition by multiple operators.
The journey planner should give results that show the broad transport services, without giving overload of bad results in other areas.
Observed behavior
The fastest one, or the best within multicriteria search are shown, other trips are not presented.

Due to timetable changes, some of the examples may not be reproducible. The problem it addresses is still relevant.

Example 1 Different operators
Otta stasjon - Lillehammer skysstasjon -
Expect both:
- Vy train 13:39 - 15:00

Departure 14:25 with arrival 15:20 and departure 15:30 with arrival 16:35, Innlandet line 144 is not shown.
Vy710 departure 14:40 arrival 15:17 and train 21 departure 16:03 and arrival 16:32 is used.

Example 3 Different operators
Gol - Geilo
Departure 11:05 with arrival 12:23 with Brakar bus line 330 is not shown.
Vy train 41 with departure 11:16 with arrival 12:53 is used.

Example 4 Same operator
Stokkvågen kai - Lovund ferjekai
Departure with the ferry from Stokkvågen at 19:30 with arrival at Lovund 21:50 (has two stops in between) and from Stokkvågen 19:45 with arrival 21:20 (direct trip) is not shown.
Express boat with the same operator from Stokkvågen hurtigbåtkai at 20:15 with arrival at Lovund 21:25 is used.
All three should be presented. -
Example 5 Same operator
Time rådhus - Lyefjell, Wednesday 15:00
Departure with bus line 50 from Time rådhus at xx:33 with arrival Lyefjell xx:42 is not shown.
Local bus line 50 operates the same stops and stop patterns, departure xx:35 and arrival xx:42.
Both should probably be shown. -
Example 6 Different operators
Bjorli stasjon - Trondheim S
Departure with train SJ Nord 10:11 with interchange to train SJ Nord with arrival at Trondheim S 14:39 is not shown.
Local bus line 144 with departure at 10:45 from Bjorli with Interchange to SJ Nord train with arrival Trondheim S is used.
Both should be shown. -
Example 7 Different operators
Lillehammer stasjon - Hamar stasjon
Departure with SJ Nord from Lillehammer 15:04 with departure 15:47 and interchange to train from Hamar at 16:09 with arrival 16:33 is not shown. Train with Vy with departure from Lillehammer at 15:09 with arrival Hamar at 16:05 is used.
Both should be shown. -
Example 8 Same operator
Trondheim S - Oslo S via Røros
Departure with SJ Nord from Trondheim S Saturday/Sunday with departure 09:25 and passing Røros with arrival Hamar 15:46 with interchange to SJ Nord to Oslo with departure 16:07 and arrival 17:26 is not shown.
SJ Nord direct train with departure 10:18 and arrival Oslo S at 17:08 is shown.
Both should be shown. -
Example 9 Two operators / same operators
Oppdal stasjon - Sandvika stasjon
Departure with SJ Nord from Oppdal til Oslo, Vy from Oslo to Sandvika is preferred.
Interchange is often done at Hamar stasjon or Lillestrøm stasjon. (Not preferred) Oslo is closer to end destination, and there are more options than being stranded in Hamar if disturbances. -
Example 10 Same operator
Lørenskog stasjon - Prosgrunn stasjon
Departure with Interchange at Oslo S is slower but cheaper. Preferred by most customers. (use via to get the result)
Departure with Interchange at Lillestrøm is faster but more expensive. Preferred by some customers. -
Example 11 Two operators, best win over two
Bergen lufthavn - Bergen busstasjon
Departure with Flybussen (operator: Tide) with departure at 10:30 (weekdays) is shown.
Prefer to also show two trips with Bybanen with departure at 10:18 and 10:27. -
Example 12 Two operates first leg, same line next leg
line NW431 departure Bergen busstasjon 16:30 with arrival Førde rutebilstasjon 20:10 and line 100 (Skyss) departure Førde rutebilstasjon 20:30 with arrival Sandane rutebilstasjon 22:00 is not shown.
