I am drafting the Browser standard and need to solve this exact topic, so I tried to generalize my thoughts for browsers to be more broadly applicable and created a first pass at a heavyweight attestation and a bit of a guide for usage.
I genuinely hope this is useful, because 9 out of 10 browser manufacturers base their work on open source browsers and open source browser engines. We need a solution like this and I am looking forward to helping shape this discussion moving forward.
