[BUG] Focus doesn't lock properly, causing blurry scans

What happened?

When I'm attempting to scan certain pages I find that the camera tries to refocus while the app is taking the scan. On some pages this means that the photo occurs while the camera is completely unfocused and I can't take the scan at all. Enabling flash helps somewhat, but leads to uneven lighting so I'd rather avoid it if possible.

Is it possible to force the app to lock focus while taking the scan?

I’ve got the same problem. Despite all the settings that are supposed to ensure a sharp, high-quality photo, 80 per cent of the shots are completely unusable. This was never an issue in earlier versions of the app.
I recently updated my Pixel 9 to Android 17 – perhaps an important feature of the app has been changed can't be properly used by the app any longer?

Can confirm for Pixel 8a on GrapheneOS Android 17.

This mostly happens when I click on the screen to focus the camera. If I just let the app do it works most of the times

I’ve just installed Android version 1.25.2.162 of the app; I’ll test it later and let you know how it goes
