First, thanks for this project. I have added three (small) points, in order

• software is central to most research projects. It does not only exists in parallel to scholarly papers, it exists as a foundation of them
• I added two related papers on best practices for publishing and citing software, written for my fellow ecologists and evo biologists
• a reference to the Julia package repository, which is largely for numerical research
