Advanced ‐ Artwork Quality

Kodi uses 1080p as its maximum for artwork, which isn't suitable for 4K displays. Use the following instructions to adjust this to your needs:

1. Go to AddonSettings

2. Adjust "Poster resolution scaling %" and "Background image resolution scaling %" (for NVIDIA SHIELD 2019 Pro 300% is a working value for Poster resolution scaling %)

3. Add the following to advancedsettings.xml (for 4K):

  <fanartres>2160</fanartres>
  <imageres>2160</imageres>
  <imagequalityjpeg>0</imagequalityjpeg>

4. Delete your Kodi thumbnail cache

5. Restart Kodi

Attention: This will increase memory usage and might lead to crashes depending on your device.
