Summary

Sieving is the primary way to get resources on Talos. This page details the categories of ores and blocks that are used to determine drops. More details about sieving in general may be added soon.

Ore Categories

  • Metals
    • Very common:
      • Iron (from sifting all stone-based blocks)
    • Common:
      • Copper (from sifting all stone-based blocks but sand)
      • Gold (from sifting all stone-based blocks but sand)
    • Uncommon:
      • Tin (from sifting sand or gravel)
      • Zinc (from sifting sand or gravel)
      • Nickel (from sifting sand or gravel)
    • Rare:
      • Silver (from sifting gravel or crushed deepslate)
      • Lead (from sifting gravel or crushed deepslate)
    • Very rare:
      • Osmium (from sifting crushed deepslate, though the method may change when endgame changes come out)
      • Uranium (from sifting crushed deepslate, though the method may change when biome changes come out)
      • Cobalt (from sifting nether blocks, with a higher chance from crushed blackstone)
  • Gems/Nonmetals
    • Common:
      • Redstone (from sifting all stone-based blocks but sand)
    • Uncommon:
      • Coal (from sifting gravel)
      • Certus quartz (from sifting sand)
      • Quartz (from sifting sand or nether blocks)
    • Rare:
      • Lapis lazuli (from sifting crushed deepslate)
      • Diamond (from sifting crushed deepslate)
      • Emerald (from sifting crushed deepslate)
      • Amethyst (from sifting crushed deepslate)
      • Apatite (from sifting crushed deepslate)

Siftable Block Categories:

  • Stone-based: Stone-based blocks primarily drop ore chunks, some gems, and some misc ingredients based on their type.

  • Dirt-based: Dirt-based blocks drop natural materials like seeds.
    • Dirt
    • Moss
    • Podzol
  • Nether: Nether blocks drop nether resources.
    • Crushed Netherrack

    • Soul Sand
  • End: End blocks drop end resources.
    • Crushed End Stone
