This is an automated cherry-pick of #12437

What problem does this PR solve?

Issue Number: close #12436

What is changed and how it works?

In the previous implementation, the error of writer.Close was not handled, and some DMLs may upload failed.
This error should block the advance and cause the changefeed to finally restart.

Check List

Tests

  • Unit test
  • Integration test

Questions

Will it cause performance regression or break compatibility?
Do you need to update user documentation, design documentation or monitoring documentation?

Summary of Changes

Hello @ti-chi-bot, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request addresses a critical bug in the TiCDC cloud storage sink that could lead to data loss. Previously, failures during the writer.Close operation were not properly handled, potentially allowing DMLs to remain unsynced. The changes ensure that any error encountered while closing the writer will now block the changefeed's progress, forcing a restart and preventing data inconsistencies, thereby significantly improving the reliability of data synchronization.

Highlights

  • Data Loss Prevention: Modified the dmlWorker to explicitly handle errors during the writer.Close operation, ensuring that any failure to close the writer properly will block further processing and prevent potential data loss.
  • Error Handling Improvement: Removed the deferred call to writer.Close and integrated its error checking directly into the main execution path, promoting immediate error propagation and system stability.

Code Review

This pull request fixes a bug that could cause data loss by ensuring that errors from closing a storage writer are properly handled. The previous implementation had a faulty defer block that failed to propagate writer.Close errors. The change correctly moves to explicit error handling after the write operation. However, the patch as-is contains merge conflict markers and references to undefined variables (start and d.metricFlushDuration), which are critical issues that will prevent compilation. I have provided a code suggestion to resolve these problems.

critical

This change introduces merge conflict markers (<<<<<<<, =======, >>>>>>>) which will cause a compilation error. Additionally, the line d.metricFlushDuration.Observe(time.Since(start).Seconds()) refers to d.metricFlushDuration and start which are not defined in the current scope, and this will also lead to a compilation error. Please resolve the conflict and remove the metric observation line.
