Reboot Phase Over

Notes on transfer process.

• Can we phase over to the new server? Run the existing game on US1 and the new game on PT. This would allow us to move over a few weeks, the load on PT should be light at first. Then at some point we turn off US1 and transfer PT to US1.

• This would give us an opportunity to 'do-destruction' on US1, as empires move over we can destroy them, destroy stars (going super-nova with widespread damage) etc.

• Incentives to move to the new server, we could start off fairly small (e.g. transfer with recent E purchases, with a few plans based on current empire size).

  • Early movers would have the advantage of being able to take prime locations, or start building early.
  • As each week goes by, we can increase the incentive, based on how many people move over (and retrospectively increase the reward for early movers).
  • At some point, we decide enough is enough, either the remaining empires can move at the latest reward level, or they can just quit.
  • At which time we archive US1 database, and move PT over to US1.

• change over to new server needs to be a request made in-game by the empire itself, using the main password, not the sitter.
