Windows NT 3.x, NT 4.0, 2000, and XP Support for PicoGUS

Have you happened to considered Windows NT 3.1-3.51, NT 4.0, 2000 and XP support for the PicoGUS?

The next firmware release will introduce Sound Blaster 16 mode, which should be perfect for those versions of Windows. The only issue is that pgusinit won't work.

Can pgusinit be ported as a Win32 console app that can handle only CD mounting for NT based versions like 3.x, 4.0, 2000, and XP?

I don't think there are MKE/Panasonic drivers exist for any of those OSes except for NT 3.x, so support will have to be limited to sound/MPU on the others, unfortunately. There are Windows programs that control the CD loading but afaik they're just interfaces to pgusinit, which does raw port IO, which I don't think will work successfully in NT-based OSes.

Raw port IO can be allowed on NT through the use of the PortTalk driver.
