App A.02 HTML escape characters
For reasons that are not clear, some HTML escape sequences do not work with HTML tags in GitHub Wiki Markdown. This is a Wiki problem only; the same escape sequenc-es work perfectly well with HTML tags in repository Markdown files.
This is a list of all affected escape sequences (the replacement codes always work):
