@oliverbaehler @prometherion looks like CI is failing due to controller-gen.kubebuilder.io/version.
Should I reopen #1417 to main? I am still a bit confused.

I will handle it, the manifests have to be generated with the new controller-gen version:

Then these changes havent been merged yet. Note you need to remove the bin folder. The make commands are not really working in terms of updating the version.. maybe that got you. Something we could alsp fix
