mysqld_version_string use to report an empty version if not found in Facter. That causes installation failures for MySQL. A new method gets the version of either MariaDB or MySQL, the first wins. Nota: backticks (`) throws an Errno::ENOENT exception if the command is not found.

CI tests have completed and passed for almost all platforms. SLES 15 is failing, but the failure matches the same failure currently seen in the nightly CI tests so is unrelated to the changes in this PR. Results: https://github.com/puppetlabs/puppetlabs-mysql/actions/runs/31429335386 Needs engineering review, but it looks like acceptance test results are good. |
