This PR migrates the Global Buildings tutorial data from my personal Google Drive into the repository.
The dataset is derived from the Microsoft Global Buildings dataset (https://github.com/microsoft/GlobalMLBuildingFootprints). It has been simplified to include only the building center point and rooftop surface area. The data is exported in Parquet format to reduce file size.
The tutorial file is a reduced version of the original dataset and preserves the aggregated solar rooftop potential for both Nigeria and Benin for the purpose of the CI test.
I am not yet sure how to integrate this dataset into pypsa-earth’s
retrieve_databundleworkflow. Do you have suggestions?
