Standing milestone for important issues to tackle during a periodic "spring cleaning". These are things as important as they are boring, which is why we need to clump them together in one cycle, where there is no fun things to distract us.

The exact scope of this milestone is still TBD but the minimum is: - Plot a scalar time series from an inner value of another logged component (built-in or custom) - Specify what value to extract (e.g. `my_points.point3d[32].x`) in blueprint (UI or SDK) The variable part of the scope is related to how far we go with the general capability of remapping or reinterpreting values. This is also related to things like numeric type variations on a component (e.g. double and float quaternion).
No due dateFor the native viewer, we should be able to handle recordings that don't fit into RAM by using memory mapping of the store to file.
No due dateAll ways we can currently configure the Rerun Viewer in the UI should be configurable in code. This includes: - Different options on Views and View Parts - Visibility, Interactivity - Zoom level, camera eye - Current timeline and time - If Blueprint View, Streams View, and Selection View are expanded or not.
No due dateA user can define the view layout (hierarchy of containers), view types, and what entities are drawn (auto queries) through the SDK. - This blueprint spec can be sent to the viewer either through the SDK when opening a new recording or by passing the path to a blueprint file. - Passing a path to a blueprint file should work in both the native and web viewer - All these settings should be consistent with what can be done in the UI and how it looks Completing this milestone also requires updating docs and potentially the landing page.
No due dateUsers should be able to log timeseries from Python, C++, and Rust at at least 1000Hz and visualize them in the viewer without the viewer lagging. The viewer should handle deserializing and rendering 100 timeseries (split e.g. over 10 Space Views) of up to 10k points each (10s at 1000Hz without subsampling) without lagging or getting slower over time. - X here will depend on the machine but a Mac M1 laptop should easily handle showing 50 (ideally 100+) 10k time series at a time. Note: this milestone does not include creating time series from values inside compound objects.

The goals of the 0.9 release is to - move over to using code generation for all archetypes, components, and datatypes, based on our data IDL - Introduce the new type centric logging api - Improve onboarding by introducing a new empty screen - Foundations of C++ api
