There are five resources in the game. You can collect them through space adventures, exploration, and trading at planetary markets.
| Resource | Base Price | Storage per Unit | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Satoshi | 1 | 0 | The universal currency. Takes no cargo space |
| Gold | 1,750 | 2 | Premium resource, needed for high-tier upgrades |
| Scraps | 40 | 10 | Common crafting material, used heavily in upgrades |
| Fuel | 30 | 0 (tank) | Stored in the spaceship's fuel tank, not the cargo hold |
| Rum | 100 | 1 | Boosts morale, required for teleportation and some upgrades |
Every planet has a market where you can buy and sell resources. Prices fluctuate based on supply and demand at each planet, so the same resource can cost different amounts on different planets.
Asteroids have no market of their own. To trade out among the asteroids, build a Space Cove with the Market building.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Your Captain's Bargaining bonus directly affects the buy and sell prices you get. A better Captain means better deals;
- Prices update periodically with slight randomization;
- Storage space is limited by your spaceship's cargo hold. Plan accordingly before buying in bulk;
- Fuel has its own dedicated tank and doesn't eat into cargo space.
Besides trading, there are several ways to gather resources:
- Space adventures: Destroy asteroids and enemies to collect fragments of Scraps, Gold, Fuel, and Rum. The longer you survive, the better the loot;
- Exploration: Send your crew to explore the planet you're orbiting. Your Pilot's Scouting bonus affects how much you find;
- Asteroids: Your own asteroids contain resources that can be mined over time.
- Satoshi: Hiring pirates, repairs, buying other resources, spaceship upgrades, asteroid upgrades
- Gold: High-tier spaceship upgrades (hull, engine), asteroid upgrades
- Scraps: Most spaceship and asteroid upgrades, building teleportation pads and space coves
- Fuel: Traveling between planets. Running out of fuel means you're not going anywhere
- Rum: Teleportation (1 Rum per crew member), drinking to boost morale (including during games), some upgrades, stocking a cove Tavern to attract pirates. Essential for Spugna pirates
