For a balanced story, pacing is important. The new outline view should be able to show at what percentage into the story a scene is, based on either the current, or the target word count. It could probably just pick the largest of the two.
That way it would be visible at a glance where key scenes in the story land, even before the first draft is finished. The Novel Details panels tries to do this, but maybe the outline could do this better.
