I’m putting the gemini-cli to the test to build a streamlined diary analysis tool that uncovers recurring themes within my personal obsidian diary. By leveraging an MCP server built with fastmcp, I’ll create a bridge between Gemini’s reasoning capabilities and my Obsidian vault, allowing the AI to programmatically parse my collection of Markdown files. The application centers on two workflows: a targeted "look up" feature that extracts and synthesizes themes from entries containing specific search terms, and a "chronological analysis" that summarizes major life patterns over a defined number of months.
