Description
I am currently working with Visium V1 data, and the Space Ranger spatial output includes a "hires" image. However, since I am working with very small tissue samples, the "hires" image is not of sufficient resolution.
I would like to incorporate the fullres 1.5 GB .tif image into the SpatialDimPlot. My current approach involves manually downsampling the fullres image, creating a new PNG, and then updating the hires image.scale accordingly. I am also aware of other approaches using terra, as discussed here, or by using tidyterra’s geom_spatraster_rgb.
Using a large PNG file significantly slows down the process and makes the analysis almost unmanageable. Would it be possible to add a fullres option to SpatialDimPlot that directly utilizes the .tif image without the need for downsampling?
