Photo requirements for registration

Making pictures mandatory:

Pros:

• Everything will be visually consistent. ie. Users would feel as if though they were window shopping.
• Familiarity
• If shoppers don't know the name of the shop, they could remember the storefront
• It is good for shoppers to have a more complete store profile (legitimate)

Cons:

• The form is very long already
• Pictures would be mandatory to fill up the form
• Non-tech-savvy store owners will find this step difficult
• Specifically required photos may not be available at the time of registration
• Uploaded photos could be of bad quality
• We could use b/w placeholder images for those with no pictures, but this could be misleading to shoppers

Pictures not mandatory:

Pros:

• We don't rely on content (images)
• Store owners are more likely to fill out the form right away
• Fewer barriers to register your shop
• Very easy to maintain
• No dependencies

Cons:

• Changing the concept for store results page.
• We need to decide on if we will adding photos at all
• Could this evolve on having pictures in the future?
