[#1527] Dashboard defaults to api key auth

• Pulls some codegen functions previously defined inline into their own space for tidiness
• Codegen snippets snapshot'd. I personally like snapshots for this kind of thing, but I can easily inline them if the people prefer no.

Looks good when desk-checked, but marked draft because I'm too sleepy RN to personally vouch for every LoC.
