A Belgian software engineer and open-source maintainer focused on making the web faster, lighter, and easier to build for.

I’m a core maintainer of Preact and Preact Signals, where I work on performance, compatibility, developer experience, and the long-term health of the ecosystem.

My current open-source work includes:

• Maintaining and improving Preact and Preact Signals
• Investigating performance bottlenecks and reducing framework overhead
• Reviewing community contributions and resolving complex framework issues
• Building Pracht, an experimental framework exploring lightweight, high-performance application development
• Creating Drydock, a platform supporting the people and projects behind open-source software
• Maintaining developer tooling such as Prefresh, gql.tada and GraphQLSP

I care deeply about creating software that is both powerful and efficient. Whether I’m working on a framework, developer tooling, or new infrastructure for open source, I try to reduce unnecessary complexity, keep bundle sizes small, and make good performance accessible by default.

I created Prefresh to bring Fast Refresh to Preact, and GraphQLSP/gql.tada to improve the GraphQL development experience directly inside TypeScript tooling. More recently, I’ve been working on Pracht to explore new approaches to building lightweight applications, and Drydock to help make open-source work more sustainable.

I also write about the technical challenges, lessons, and ideas I encounter while building and maintaining open-source software on my blog.
