Context
Two plugins that fill genuine gaps not covered by the existing suggestions in #129, #139, #146, or #164.
1. folke/todo-comments.nvim — highlight and navigate TODO/FIXME/NOTE comments
Rationale tied to existing config:
The codebase already has a number of TODO/FIXME/BUG comments (e.g. init.lua "TUDO", options.lua "TUDO", server.lua two TODO markers, treesitter.lua TODO at line 104). The config's existing workflow is quickfix-heavy — makeprg="" + :Compile, <leader>co/<leader>cc for quickfix open/close — and todo-comments.nvim integrates directly into that: it can dump all TODO-type comments across the project into the quickfix list with :TodoQuickFix.
It also integrates with fzf-lua (already installed) via :TodoFzfLua, providing the same interactive filtering the rest of the file-search workflow already uses. No extra UI or dependencies beyond what is present.
Install:
{ name = "todo-comments.nvim", src = "https://github.com/folke/todo-comments.nvim.git" },
Minimal setup (zero config needed for defaults):
local ok, tc = pcall(require, "todo-comments")
if ok then tc.setup({}) end
2. echasnovski/mini.pairs — auto-close bracket and quote pairs
Rationale tied to existing config:
options.lua:124–135 has a custom <CR> keymap that auto-indents when pressing Enter between {} or (). This handles the newline case but leaves the opening case unhandled — typing ( does not insert the closing ). mini.pairs fills that gap: it auto-closes (), [], {}, "", '', ` on insert, and is smart enough not to duplicate a closing char if it already exists.
mini.pairs is part of the mini.nvim ecosystem (same family as mini.ai already suggested in #146), is a single-file install with no dependencies, and complements the existing <CR> auto-indent without conflicting with it. It also integrates with the LSP completion popup naturally.
Install:
{ name = "mini.pairs", src = "https://github.com/echasnovski/mini.pairs.git" },
Minimal setup:
local ok, mp = pcall(require, "mini.pairs")
if ok then mp.setup({}) end
Where
lua/config/plugins.lua — package list; lua/config/plugin_config.lua — setup calls.
Priority
mini.pairs has the lower setup cost and fills the most immediately noticeable daily friction. todo-comments.nvim has the highest payoff for the quickfix-heavy workflow and the existing TODO comments scattered across the config.
