I'd love to see this merged too. Note that #11 contains a systemd unit file for more recent versions of Debian/Redhat distros, but I've not got any of your changes around logging in place. |

make the packet forwarder work as a daemon
Changed the printf statement to LOG, supporting both console and syslog storage
