For future reference \+ [_] means there is nothing to look ahead to even (reached the end of the string to parse)

sexpr(V,E0,E) --> blanks, var_symbol(V,E0,E), blanks, !.
sexpr(A,E,E) --> blanks, atom_symbol(A), blanks.
