This introduces a new setting in the settings dialog which allows the user to specify which editor to use when clicking the edit button (pencil icon) in the POI popup.
It defaults to osm.org (current behavior), however it allows the user to switch it to JOSM.
When JOSM is selected, the item opens directly within a JOSM instance running on the user's local machine, provided it has the remote control feature enabled.
