Jordan goes to our game and clicks on “Start Game.” The site presents a brief how-to-play instruction, explaining that they need to guess a secret 5-letter word within 6 tries.
Jordan clicks “Got it!” and is brought to the main interface. He sees a 6x5 grid of empty boxes.
Jordan types their first guess: “ANGEL.” After hitting “Enter” the letters animate in place. The game highlights the “A” in yellow, the “N” in yellow, the “G” in gray, the “E” in yellow, and the “L” in yellow.
He types his second guess: “ALONE.” After hitting "Enter," the game highlights the “A” in yellow, the “L” in green, the “O” in grey, the “N” in green, and the “E” in green.
On his third attempt, Jordan types “PLANE.” All five letters turn green. The game shows an animation with confetti and a message: “You guessed the word in 3 tries!”
Jordan is given the option to share their result, play again tomorrow, or play past day’s games. The results that Jordan can share disguises the letters, but shows the colors of each letter spot at every guess stage
Taylor visits our game and clicks on “Start Game.” Taylor begins playing the daily game.
They try their first guess: “STORM.” 4 of the letters are in the correct spot, but “O” turns green.
Taylor keeps trying words: “MOUND,” “GLOBE,” “TRICK,” “WORST.”
Taylor forgets what word she’s guessed and types in “STORM.”. Her guess visually shakes and does not count as a guess as she’s already guessed this word.
Taylor tries typing in a nonexistent word “CLORD”. The same visual effect occurs and the guess is unregistered.
By the sixth guess, they type “FLOCK,” unsure but out of options.
After pressing “Enter,” the letters animate — L, O, C, K are left green.
The screen dims slightly, and the game displays the message: “Out of tries! The word was: BLOCK.”
Taylor sees a note: “Try again tomorrow!” and an option to review their guesses or share their score with friends.
After guessing the correct word in today’s Words, Priya sees a message: “Nice job! You got it in 4 tries!”
Below the message is a “Play again” button, but it’s grayed out with a note that says, “New puzzle available tomorrow.”
Curious to keep playing, Priya notices a link that says “Try a past one.” Clicking it opens a calendar-style menu labeled “Archive,” showing previous dates.
She scrolls and can see the days where she successfully attempted a word. She goes back to last week and selects last Thursday.
The game loads with a fresh grid and keyboard, and Priya begins playing just like today’s game. At the top, it says “Word from April 11, 2025.”
After finishing that game, she picks another from earlier in the week, excited to see how many she can solve in one sitting.
