  • 👋 Olá Everyone! Roosevelt is our upcoming product cycle, inspired by Basecamp's approach. It will run from the 1st of January until the 22th of January. This is a draft that still needs some input and research. You can pitch a new product initiative via Github.

  • The goal is to shorten the gap between the mentors and the mentees by improving our metadata information, along with the email notifications and the profiles. The expected outcome is an increase in meetups scheduled every month.

  • This is a little milestone since Ulisses is in italy 🍕 and Fabio has some exams 👨‍🎓. Here we address complaints from our first users in terms of usability: We build an enhancement for the google calendar: Created free time slots will be auto-synced and displayed in the mentors google calendar, so that they don't have to visit the website for that purpose. (#137) #138 Follows up on that: Once meetings have been scheduled, those google events need to be replaced by the actual meeting event containing the necessary information for the mentor. Further down the road we want to do anything to increase the one metric: *Increase in scheduled events by the same users*: Seems a vanity metric so how do we get there? A) Retaining the same users to repeatedly create new free time slots B) Get them to share their URL with mentees/contacts How do we get there then? A) Make it easier for them to set free time slots. They'd be able to create them on the go, without spending time or cognitive effort. Make them build a habit around this action: trigger the action, reward the behavior variably. ...

  • This is for our first release to our first mentors. We prioritize on the core feature here, which is scheduling meetings/calls. Our core user we focus on is Mentors, while we don't care about mentees right now. It follows, that any UX for mentees as well as anything but the 'scheduling' feature is non-priority. Here's a list of our adjusted priorities: — When the mentor is logging in to her account, she should be automatically directed to her settings page. [they don't need to see their public profile. Instead, after the first login they should be directly prompted to fill information, while for every following login the first thing they should see is the calendar sync section (since this is what they are supposed to create value with) -- Is this implementable @Fabiofcferreira @UlissesFerreira ?] — Solve cache/memory related issues. Things should update automatically After: - Log in - Log out - Upload profile picture - Remove profile picture [For instance the profile picture inside the navbar should (dis)appear instantly.] — Solve redirection. [Malik and Swen will come up with designs for A) landing page for non-logged-in users B) Redirection page for logged-in mentors, So we can redirect them properly (when they manipulate the url.) -- For when clicking on the LOGO users should get redirected to their respective mentor profile.] — When the file size of the profile picture is too big there should be a prompt. [Either cap with message or unlimited (don't worry about spammers for now) - seems already fixed, nevertheless lets issue and issue and close it again.] — unclutter the calendar page. [Malik and Swen are going to redesign the calendar page just enough for the first release. (refinements will come later)] ----- Here's some design specifics that we ought to think about: Design: We need to improve the copy that comes with the confirmation email. (Swen, Malik) LOW PRIO but still noteworthy: SE: Make the location a required field for the mentor. ... All other existing and upcoming issues that are going to be non-priority for our first release will be stored in our backlog, but let's for now only tackle the issues labeled: Priority. After all... ...We want other users (mentors) to be able to use the platform to schedule their own meetings. (THIS IS HERE BUT WILL BE REMOVED ONCE ALL OF US MIGRATE TO A TASK MGMT TOOL!): Next steps for Berlin: - By wednesday 30.01.19 Malik and Swen handle some CODE specific documents for our project. - Swen is going to create designs for respective themes (see above). - Malik is going to create interview guidelines/scripts. - By next tuesday next week, Malik and Swen will conduct 10 Interviews for research to make - up some patterns that might influence our mvp building. (Don't fear the reaper) We want to have at least 5 mentors with us until the 8th of February. Malik and Swen are going go setup their accounts and conduct usability tests (screen recorded) as they onboard the first users.

  • Search feature will be implemented at this stage. This means that people can see the mentors' profile pages and can also use the main page to search for other interesting mentors. - Search - Quick search (suggestions when you type into the search bar) - Main page with popular tags and the search mechanism - Search analytics. We need to know what people are searching and save that information.

  • At this stage we want close mentors to be able to use Connect. They won't be onboarded gracefully as they are still part of our validation strategy. The fact that they are outside of our team means they need a clean and responsive interface. - Settings page needs to be responsive and working perfectly. - Navigation bar (logout button) needs to be styled and responsive. - Social networks buttons under the mentor's profile picture. Basically everything working between Settings and Mentor page.

  • Connect at this stage needs to be fully working for Malik's personal usage. He is our MVP. Here is a list of overall features. - Google Calendar integration (we can add meetups and free slots to Malik's calendar) - Google Calendar offline access (Malik only has to sync to Google once) - Malik's page is fully ready (this means responsiveness and all elements working) - Anyone can create a meetup with Malik (even using their phone)
