Stellar Evolution Models (MESA)

This repository contains input files for simulating stellar evolution using MESA (Modules for Experiments in Stellar Astrophysics).

Files Included

  • inlist_zams – Simulates pre-main sequence evolution to Zero Age Main Sequence (ZAMS).
  • inlist_pgstar – Enables real-time plotting during stellar evolution.
  • inlist_sagb – Models the Super-Asymptotic Giant Branch (SAGB) phase of stellar evolution.

Requirements

  • MESA (Modules for Experiments in Stellar Astrophysics)
  • Fortran compiler (gfortran, ifort)
  • Python (optional for visualization)

Installation

  1. Install MESA:
    https://docs.mesastar.org/en/latest/installing_mesa/
  2. Copy files to your MESA project directory.
  3. Run the MESA project to simulate stellar evolution.
