Local build testing

• I built and ran checks this PR locally for my native architecture, x86-64-glibc

Note that flatpak, gnome-connections, gvfs, sqsh-tools, xdg-desktop-portal succeed in the check build stage, but fails on args passed to meson (which is obviously unrelated to any of the changes here) fixed after #59100

wimlib fails on the following check, but this currently exists on master too:
