Project Abstract

Assets Checker’s goal is clear: to make Tokens/NFTs practical, valuable, and trusted, driving adoption across multiple sectors. With Polkadot’s infrastructure, this vision becomes scalable and impactful, positioning both Assets Checker and Polkadot as leaders in real-world blockchain applications.

Assets Checker addresses a critical need in the Utility tokens, Memecoins and NFT market: trust and utility. By bridging Web2 and Web3, this platform enables users to verify and leverage Tokens/NFTs securely for real-world applications, including healthcare, wellness tourism, e-commerce, gaming and many more.

This project isn’t just about recovery; it’s about redefining the purpose of Tokens/NFTs. By integrating with Polkadot, Assets Checker will deliver:

  • Authenticity: Robust verification systems to ensure trust and transparency.
  • Scalability: A seamless connection between traditional systems and decentralized platforms.
  • Practical Utility: Real-world value through tokenized rewards, secure services, and exclusive benefits.
  • Fraud Prevention: Implementing advanced anti-fraud mechanisms to combat scams that have eroded trust in the Tokens/NFTs market. By ensuring rigorous verification and monitoring, Assets Checker aims to restore confidence and promote a safer environment for Utility tokens, Memcoins and NFTs transactions.

Grant level

  • Level 1: Up to $10,000, 2 approvals
  • Level 2: Up to $30,000, 3 approvals
  • Level 3: Unlimited, 5 approvals (for >$100k: Web3 Foundation Council approval)

Application Checklist

  • The application template has been copied and aptly renamed (project_name.md).
  • I have read the application guidelines.
  • Payment details have been provided (Polkadot AssetHub (USDC & DOT) address in the application and bank details via email, if applicable).
  • I understand that an agreed upon percentage of each milestone will be paid in vested DOT, to the Polkadot address listed in the application.
  • I am aware that, in order to receive a grant, I (and the entity I represent) have to successfully complete a KYC/KYB check.
  • The software delivered for this grant will be released under an open-source license specified in the application.
  • The initial PR contains only one commit (squash and force-push if needed).
  • The grant will only be announced once the first milestone has been accepted (see the announcement guidelines).
  • I prefer the discussion of this application to take place in a private Element/Matrix channel. My username is: @_______:matrix.org (change the homeserver if you use a different one)

Thanks for the application @Raul-DQA we typically don't cover security audits. Could you remove the independent third party audit section from M1 and reduce costs accordingly?

We've removed the "Audit" deliverable from the milestone 1, reduced 10,000USD the cost of the milestone 1 and reduced the whole application cost from 100,000USD to 90,000USD

Thanks @Raul-DQA some additional questions:

  • The Vesting dapp seems to be no longer maintained, did it ever gain any traction?
  • The TurboDeFi docs are down and also seems to be unmaintained. What steps will you take after this grant to ensure the Polkadot integration is maintained?
  • The repo you linked is forked from the official one written by MultiversX and doesn't contain any changes. Can you explain your reasons for forking it and also rebranding?
  • Neither repo contains a license file. You mentioned that the assets checker is owned exclusively by DQA, does this mean it would be proprietary? What license would the software be written under?

Thanks @Raul-DQA some additional questions:

  • The Vesting dapp seems to be no longer maintained, did it ever gain any traction?
    * This application was made by our Moonlorian technical partner as a gift to the MultiversX community.
    * This has been re-used, for example, by the project Globees Wallet
  • The TurboDeFi docs are down and also seems to be unmaintained. What steps will you take after this grant to ensure the Polkadot integration is maintained?
    * This application was made by our Moonlorian technical partner as part of a hackathon. It has been maintained during the hackathon and post hackathon. After a 4th prize in the hackathon, the team applied for a grant to make it a real business, but never reached it, so you cannot find any announcement after that.
    * Our Moonlorian technical partner has the capacity to maintain the project like other references develop by them. Those projects are not open source, so they didn't provide me the github repo:
    * QoWatt - since 2021
    * ProteoDeFi - since 2022
    * Globees (since 2023, see above)
    * The marketing and business steps to ensure Polkadot integration are properly described on the application itself
    * See chapter Future Plans
    * subchapters Mid-Term Goals - Growth phase (4+ Months)
    * subchapter Long-Term Vision - Expansion phase (12+ months)
  • The repo you linked is forked from the official one written by MultiversX and doesn't contain any changes. Can you explain your reasons for forking it and also rebranding?
    * This repo is mandatory to be forked to brand new projects and is ready to create a new PR to list the DQA token in MultiversX explorer, when MultiversX gives us the grant.
  • Neither repo contains a license file. You mentioned that the assets checker is owned exclusively by DQA, does this mean it would be proprietary? What license would the software be written under?
    * Yes, it will be open source, under MIT license, as described on the deliverables "0a." of the 3 milestones of the application:
    * M1
    * M2
    * M3

Hey @Raul-DQA ,
Thanks again for all the effort you put into this application. Unfortunately your application couldn't gather enough approvals from the committee. Hopefully you will be able to pursue your project without our funding. Let me know if you have any questions.

We wish you all the best for your future endeavours.

Hi @PieWol ,

Thanks for the update and for the opportunity to submit our application.

We fully respect the committee’s decision — but we’d appreciate it if you could share why it didn’t move forward. Knowing where the concerns or misalignments were would help us adapt and improve.

Specifically:

  1. Was it a matter of strategic fit, timing, or execution risk?

  2. Any particular points that raised red flags or didn’t meet expectations?

  3. How did we rank in terms of innovation, team, and impact potential compared to others?

  4. Is there room to revisit or restructure the application in the future?

  5. Are there other programs or partners you think we’d be better aligned with?

Appreciate any insight you can offer — we’re focused on building something real and valuable, with or without external funding. Still, honest feedback helps us move smarter.

Best regards,
Raul
