Project Abstract

The Dot Agent Kit will offer a modular set of plugins and tools that allow AI agents to interact with Polkadot’s relay chain and parachains. Key features include wallet creation, token transfers, advanced message encryption/decryption, and modules to boost Polkadot's TVL by enabling AI agents to assist users with staking. The toolkit is designed to be framework-agnostic, supporting multiple AI agent frameworks like Eliza, LangChain, and others, ensuring broad applicability and adoption.

Grant level

  • Level 1: Up to $10,000, 2 approvals
  • Level 2: Up to $30,000, 3 approvals
  • Level 3: Unlimited, 5 approvals (for >$100k: Web3 Foundation Council approval)

Application Checklist

  • The application template has been copied and aptly renamed (project_name.md).
  • I have read the application guidelines.
  • Payment details have been provided (Polkadot AssetHub (USDC & DOT) address in the application and bank details via email, if applicable).
  • I understand that an agreed upon percentage of each milestone will be paid in vested DOT, to the Polkadot address listed in the application.
  • I am aware that, in order to receive a grant, I (and the entity I represent) have to successfully complete a KYC/KYB check.
  • The software delivered for this grant will be released under an open-source license specified in the application.
  • The initial PR contains only one commit (squash and force-push if needed).
  • The grant will only be announced once the first milestone has been accepted (see the announcement guidelines).
  • I prefer the discussion of this application to take place in a private Element/Matrix channel. My username is: @_______:matrix.org (change the homeserver if you use a different one)

@iTanChi thanks for submitting, in general this looks quite interesting.

However, I have 3 questions:

  1. The mentioned team repo is returning a HTTP 404. Could you help with that?

  2. I assume the integration would be generic, so there wouldn't be any limitation to which token is supported (in particular, not only DOT), is that correct?

token transfer (DOT/parachain, balances, fees, cross-chain)

  3. Is the support here limited to staking through nominations of nodes, or are staking pools supported as well?

Basic tools for AI agents to assist with DOT staking

Hi @takahser, about your questions:

  1. I have created the public repo, we will contribute on that repo
  2. The agent kit will use asset-transfer-api so we will support all the assets that the api can support
  3. We will support basic staking functions: bond, unbond, nominate

@takahser In the proposal, I’ve included the team's repository: VAR-META-Tech GitHub. This repo hosts various open-source projects spanning multiple blockchain ecosystems, including but not limited to:

Let me know if you need any further details!

Hi @iTanChi, thanks again for the application. It looks like the team has worked on quite a few projects in the web3 space. But if you don't mind me asking, none of the projects you listed in your comment have had commits in the past six months. In fact, they all seem to be worked on for one to four months, and then left behind. Can you explain this?

Hi @semuelle , thanks for your question!

We’ve completed the main development on those projects and have since moved into the maintenance phase. We're still active in responding to community questions and fixing any issues that come up. Additionally, we’re currently supporting a few teams integrating the SDKs into their games, though that work isn’t being discussed on GitHub.

Let me know if you'd like more details!
