Each edition is a complete snapshot of actionable records in the matching Grants.gov enhanced daily XML extract:
posted— an announced opportunity whose application close and archive dates have not passed as of the edition date;forecasted— a planned opportunity that can change or may never become a final funding announcement.
Closed and archived records are outside the daily download. A close or archive date equal to the edition date is still treated as active for that edition. The manifest records the source extract, its SHA-256 checksum, the derived status counts, deadlines approaching within 7 and 30 days, and the advisory comparison with the current Grants.gov search API.
The source includes multiple funding-instrument codes. WebTruffle preserves
them all—including PC for Procurement Contract—so users can filter the
official classification instead of receiving a silently narrowed subset.
One row represents one Grants.gov opportunity ID. Fields include:
- stable IDs, opportunity number, title, record type, lifecycle status, and status basis;
- agency, opportunity category, funding instruments, activity categories, Assistance Listing numbers, and structured applicant eligibility;
- posting, closing, archive, forecast, estimated award, and project dates;
- estimated program funding, award range, expected awards, and cost-sharing requirements;
- official source links, observation dates, content hash, and change type.

This is an opportunities dataset. It does not contain awarded grants, recipient records, obligations, payments, federal spending, personal benefits, or promises of funding. Forecast dates and all funding figures are source-reported planning values and can change.
Always open source_url and review the complete official announcement,
amendments, attachments, eligibility rules, and application instructions
before relying on a deadline or applying.
The pipeline runs daily and publishes the Grants.gov extract whose date matches
the edition. A successful run creates a dated GitHub Release using the
YYYY-MM-DD tag and marks it as the latest edition. Corrected editions use a
revision tag such as YYYY-MM-DD-r2, while retaining the original release.
Every record keeps the official opportunity ID, source URL, source terms URL, extract date, observation dates, and a SHA-256 hash of normalized public content. The public schema intentionally omits dedicated contact names, email addresses, telephone numbers, street addresses, internal publisher IDs, unrestricted narrative descriptions, and mirrored attachments.
Private temporary source archives are not GitHub release assets. Titles and organization names remain source-published public facts and can still contain unexpected details, so review the data for privacy-sensitive uses.
This product uses the Grants.gov API but is not endorsed or certified by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
