Summary
AGENTS.mdat the repo root for coding-agent workflows (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, etc.).CONTRIBUTING.mdfor engineering norms (architecture, the skill how-to, design patterns) —AGENTS.mdcovers the workspace/environment layer above that, plus re-states the two highest-stakes rules (privacy, merchant-scope) since a single violation in a tool description ships to a public release.Mirrors the structure used for similar Automattic projects: project knowledge → layout → local dev → architectural decisions → stack → common pitfalls → workflow.
Test plan
./bin/checkshould be a no-op pass.CONTRIBUTING.mdrender correctly.
