Starting from September 25, 2025, firmware v4.8.2-beta3 (from BETA tab), AmneziaWG (First versions, not newer with updated obfuscations) is natively supported by GL.iNET MT-3000, you don't need to install any additional packages.
In this repo AmneziaWG 2.0 available for firmwares after v4.8.3
To switch back from CN version to Global (DE, with VPN support), run these commands in the router's console:
echo -n "DE" |dd of=/dev/mtdblock3 bs=1 seek=136
sync
rebootOfficial OpenWRT 24.* GL.iNet firmware could be downloaded here (mirror)
Installation instructions coud be found here: Russian/English
NOTE: in case you need to pass all traffic through AWG interface, check "Route Allowed IPs" checkbox in the Peer settings (this is absent in instruction above)
You will have to configure Amnezia using LUCI web interface, but once configured and installed, you can continue using full power on GL.iNET interface (including VPN settings). In case your AWG interface is ON and no VPN configured in GL's UI all traffic is going through AWG, once you turn your Wireguard connection ON (in GL UI) all traffic will go through Wireguard connection (no matter about AWG status), so basically it will work like independed VPN connection with lower priority than GL.iNET's VPN.
