About Me

👋 Hi, I'm Zack.

I build and maintain digital archives for libraries and historical societies.

Senior Technology Assistant at Marshall District Library.

🎯 Current work:

Marshall District Library — I architect, build, and operate the library's two digital archive platforms:

  • Marshall Digital Archive (archive.yourmdl.org) — migrated from Omeka Classic to Omeka S and rearchitected as a headless repository: Omeka S as API only, custom Next.js frontend, self-hosted Typesense search, and an AI-assisted transcription pipeline for 1800s cursive that defeats conventional OCR.
  • Sports history archive (sports.yourmdl.org) — built with a local community partner. Django REST API with a custom Next.js frontend and admin, API-first by design so other applications can consume the data without a new backend.

Yarn+Chai Members Platform (members.yarnandchai.com) — serverless subscription membership platform: Next.js, Lambda, DynamoDB, Cognito, Stripe billing, one backend serving web, admin, and mobile.
