Unfortunately in later Python versions (3.11+), running coverage seems to cause a segfault in Pytest when cleaning up. See issue #73.
We can still build it using cibuildwheel, but testing it is no longer trivial; Python3.7 is no longer supported on any current Ubuntu images in Github itself, and we can't test inside cibuildwheel because the tests need significant amounts of EPICS infrastructure that we can't easily install.
