About me

I've been pottering around with computers since the 1980's, dabbling in programming from the beginning, and most of my career has been based around technology.

During that time, I've administered a wide range of platforms. Half a dozen or so different commercial Unix platforms, a range of Linux distros, most of the BSDs, most versions of Windows from NT 3.51, and a bunch of other platforms. Oh, and various brands of networking kit. I've dabbled in programming, spent time as a systems architect, and more.

My home network currently has half a dozen Pi3s, a primary server, a couple of secondary "servers", and a handful of managed switches scattered around the house. In the past there were more servers, a DMZ, and a home built firewall, but I've scaled things back a bit.

In my spare time you'll probably find me tinkering with some form of technology.
