I'm running my Home Assistant install on Debian Bullseye, with a manual Python virtual environment install (using pyenv). I first used the old all in one installer, back when Hassbian was new and using Z-Wave was included with the all in one install, but not anything else.
The system has been updated steadily since, and migrated between hosts twice - once from the Pi to an old laptop, and then from the laptop to a mini-PC.
The same system also runs Traefik, for handling remote access, and Mosquitto for Zigbee2MQTT, Frigate and other things. Traefik is where I handle TLS.
