I have a couple of questions regarding a Knowledge Check question from Topic 4: Keyboard Access and Focus, Keyboard Access and Focus - Knowledge Check Question 12.

Text of question in image: What content requires the tester to test 2.1.1-no-keystroke-timing? Select one: a. Only content that PASSES 2.1.1-keyboard-access must be tested for 2.1.1-no-keystroke-timing. b. Only web page content that FAILS 2.1.1-keyboard-access must be tested for 2.1.1-no-keystroke-timing. c. Only web pages that have no interactive functions (2.1.1-keyboard-access was marked (DNA)) must be tested for 2.1.1-no-keystroke-timing. d. All web pages with interactive functions must be tested for 2.1.1-no-keystroke-timing.

Regarding answer d: Answer “d” does not state whether the interactive functions are keyboard accessible. What if all interactive content on a page is not keyboard accessible? Then the content would not be tested but marked DNA, correct?

Regarding answer a: Only keyboard accessible elements can be tested for Keystroke Timing, correct?

ANSWER: You continue testing from 4.A, 2.1.1-keyboard-access where you determined whether functionality can be accessed and executed using the keyboard. You are continuing to test those elements that can be accessed and executed using the keyboard to determine if any specific timing is required to perform the function. Anything that was DNA or FAIL in 4.A would not be tested further in 4.B. Remember DNA means that the test condition does not apply to content on the page. FAILS means the test condition applies to elements on the page, but did NOT PASS the Evaluation criteria. Therefore, if a page has no interactive elements that are keyboard accessible, this test condition is DNA.
