Topic 9: Repetitive Content
I know this is a bit late for today’s the afternoon Q&A, but I just finished reviewing Topic 9, Repetitive Content.
2 Questions:
Re: Repetitive Content, Lesson 1 Bypass Function, 9.A, Passing examples, Example 1 (https://training.section508testing.net/mod/book/view.php?id=1244&chapterid=2887)
Passing Example 1 shows a page with repeated blocks of content (menu items and site navigation in a header) throughout a website.
Question: What about repetitive content that is displayed in a page footer? Do they require a bypass function?
Note: Though not shown in Passing Example 1, the DHS.gov site does have repetitive content in the footer, and their "Back to Top" skip nav link comes AFTER the repeated content. This footer section is shown in Lesson 2: Consistent Navigation, 9.B, Test requirement, Consistent Navigation page (https://training.section508testing.net/mod/book/view.php?id=1244&chapterid=2889)
RE: Repetitive Content, Lesson 3 Consistent Identification, 9.C, Passing examples, Example 1 (https://training.section508testing.net/mod/book/view.php?id=1244&chapterid=2903)
Question:
In Example 1 that has "X Denied" and "X Delete" elements doing different functions, would it still be conformant if the text (Denied and Delete) is not visible on-screen and only marked in attributes like:
aria-label?
alt?
titles?
