Q4.1: Introduction
04-05-2018
This will serve as an introductory page to MechSuit VR. This project has been in development for the past three quarters and is now going into its fourth this Spring quarter.
Your primary goal for the quarter. What do you want to accomplish in the next 10 weeks?
MechSuit VR has been hard at work on its inverse kinematics system for the past two quarters approximately (Fall and Winter quarters of 2017-2018) and we have now reached a point where we can work on other core aspects of the game. One of the most important being our weapon summoning mechanics as well as combat system which will allow the player to summon a multitude of weapons with various movement gestures/commands as well as combat an opponent respectively. Another feature that we plan to implement is online multiplayer allowing players to connect to each other over an internet connection. Another core feature would be our player's HUD or heads up display that they will use to determine the status of their Mechsuit, opponent's Mechsuit orientation, and possibly the player's current active weapon(s).
Your team members. Who’s working with you? Include any assigned roles/groups.
Our current team members include Yue Wu, Glenn Raskovich, Nicholas Nielsen working on programming. Don Yee and Nicholas Nielsen have also been working on the 3D modeling as well as gameplay-specific elements relating to game environments.
Your project level (Beginner, intermediate, advanced) and your hourly commitment level.
The project level is currently intermediate but we have had occasional, small amounts of optional overtime depending on what we are working on at any given time.
Whether you’re receiving class credit or not (and if so, how much you’re receiving).
Don and Aaron have received class credits so far. Glenn and Yue have not opted to receive class credits.
