How to Install

1) Install SimHub if you don't have it already

Download SimHub and install it if you don't have it already. It is needed to run the overlays.

2) Install benofficial2's Official Overlays

Download benofficial2's Official Overlays from the releases page and run the installer. You will be able to choose which overlays you wish to install. Comes with an uninstaller.

If you are updating from an older version, simply run the new installer to install over. Your layouts and configuration options will persist.

Note: Anti-virus programs often wrongly report the installer as malware because it is made with the open-source NSIS application. This is a false positive and can be safely ignored. You can also install without running the installer. See the Manual Installation Guide.

3) Launch SimHub and enable benofficial2 plugin

When launching SimHub for the first time after installing the overlays, SimHub will ask if you want to enable the benofficial2 plugin. Enable it and toggle Show in left main menu to be able to configure the overlay options.

Also make sure you have not disabled the Dash Studio and Statistics plugins as they are needed to run the overlays. You can see which plugins are enabled by clicking Add/remove features in SimHub's left main menu.

Note: since version 2.0 the RSC plugins are no longer needed to run the overlays. They can be disabled to reduce CPU usage if you don't need them for anything else.

How to Use

1) Create an overlay layout in SimHub

Once installed, the overlays will show up in SimHub in the Dash Studio menu under the Overlays tab. From there, create a New overlay layout and add the overlays you want to use. You'll be able to adjust the screen position and size for each overlay. Then Save layout.

Make sure to toggle Visible ON and Manual visibility. The overlays will become visible on their own when in-car. Some overlays have an option Hide in replay that you can turn off if you want that specific overlay to be visible during replays when out of the car.

You can also toggle the AUTO load button on your layout so they conveniently load everytime you run SimHub.

2) Important iRacing Configuration

These steps are needed to ensure iRacing sends the complete telemetry data for every car in the session so that the overlays can work properly.

  1. Select the highest Connection Speed in the iRacing UI (the launcher). Go to Settings (bottom left corner) and navigate to Options > Network.

  1. Set the Max Cars setting to 63 in iRacing in-game Graphic Options and restart the game.

3) Configure overlay options

From SimHub's Left main menu, select benofficial2 to access the overlay configuration options. Various options can be changed there to change the look and behavior of the overlays.

Tip: To see the effect for the options in real-time as you change them, launch iRacing in a Practice Session and go in-car so that the overlays become visible. Then ALT-TAB to Sim Hub and tweak options.

4) Optional setup in OBS

For streaming, get the web source url by selecting Copy OBS browser address to clipboard from the More menu on an overlay in the overlay list.

For a two-PC streaming setup, replace 127.0.0.1 by the IP Address of your Gaming PC.
