Requirements for People Depot V1

People Depot aims to eventually provide a single source of truth as the backend infrastructure and database store for all Hack for LA projects, including data about people, program areas, and projects.

Version 1 of People Depot will at a minimum provide a database store for V0.4 of VRMS. Due to a complete turnover on the VRMS, the previously defined requirements for V0.4 of VRMS are currently being significantly reduced. The scope should be better known in January.

The previously defined requirements had been used to generate a data model. The People Depot team is currently implementing that data model. When the scope of VRMS is known, People Depot may define a portion of the data model to implement. There is also the possibility that VRMS may generate new requirements and the data model will need to be revised.

Since People Depot will support V0.4 of VRMS, the activity of the two teams will need to be coordinated. Essentially, People Depot and VRMS can be thought of as one team.

Future versions of People Depot will provide the backend needs for either additional projects or the next release of VRMS. People Depot and the other project will coordinate work as one team.
