Lattice pre-release for layout only
hi-8s-2s has initial layout.
For high energies, configuration is all yellow lines.
For low energies, 1 o'clock blue will be used. This is not reflected in
this release.
IRs 8, 12, and 2 are standard IRs.
A standard IR is modified from RHIC by removing D0 and DX, adding warm
dipoles, inserting a snake into the odd DU7 slot.
IR10 is similar to a standard IR, but with the warm dipoles on the
10 o'clock side instead near the Q4.
IR4 is similar to a standard IR, except the warm dipoles on the
3 o'clock side are on the arc side of the PC and Hjet.
Warm sections are mostly holdovers from RHIC, except for 4 o'clock which
is based on spreadsheet from Eric Link, dated 08-Jul-2025.
Rotators have been removed from IR8.
IR6 6 o'clock has more realistic matching.
IR6 has pending changes and is not under configuration control for this
release.
Warm dipoles are multiple 2 m long dipoles rather than single dipoles.
Only Bmad files are correct, MAD-X files have not generally been
updated.

240102b HSR lattice release
High-level changes from previous release:
- 4 different geometries: colliding/non-colliding IR8, 11 o'clock arc for low or high energy
- Geometric lattice layout at top level
- One subdirectory for each geometry
- Each of these subdirectories contains further subdirectories for each set of strenghts
- Currently one colliding strength set for each geometry, for protons
- Each strength directory contains Bmad and MAD-X strength sets
- Each directory also contains Bmad/MAD-X driver files, and a Python script to assist with tuning in Bmad
- Tunes are set to (0.228,0.210) fractional
- Integer parts of tunes set to keep gamma_t reasonable and a split of at least a copule degrees in the arc cell phase advance
- RHIC-like IRs generally have relatively high beta* values
- Warm dipoles in IRs 8/10/12 are 6 m long and move when geometry changes

230421a
Updated IR6 forward lattice.
Back to using separate Q1A/Q1B.
Aligned magnets for tranverse momentum and neutral cone transmission.
Corrected spacing issues.
Used all RHIC magnets on arc side of crab.
Reduced angle in dipole on IP side of crab.
Added vertical dipole and skew quadrupole corrector on IP side of crab.

220921a
IR10 and IR12 have new warm dipole configuration.
Cavity in IR10 now between triplet and switch dipole.
Approximately central switch dipole in IR12 removed.
Warm dipole configuration in both IR10 and IR12 has a single switch dipole away from arc 11,
and dipoles near each triplet near arc 11.

220613a
Added 41 GeV configuration that uses the Yellow 11 o'clock arc
- Tune and chromaticity are not set
- 6 o'clock IP settings are for the 41 GeV high-divergence configuration from the CDR
- 8 o'clock IP settings are just scaled from the 275 GeV values
