This release is the last of LucasChessR2 (continued on LucasChessR6), will only have updates for bug fixes or language updates or stockfish updates. It has an extensive beta testing by Eric and Stefan. New eboard driver by Graham Chessnut Move.

Added

  • Databases, Config, option to change the height of the rows.
  • Databases, Config, option to define the move that appears on the board when selecting a game.
  • Game analysis, detection of some tactical themes (a few and not perfect).
  • Databases/Import/option to import a PGN from the clipboard.
  • Maia engine added new level 2200.
  • Sounds, added offer of draw and resignation by the engine.
  • The representation of the movement on the board can be done with an arrow or with origin and destination boxes. Modifiable in Options/General configuration/Boards: The movement made is shown using boxes. The colour used is the same as the colour of the main arrow.
  • Support for LiChess graphical elements in pgn comments. It has to be activated in Options/General configuration/Boards/When position has graphic information option Show graphics.
  • Opening lines/Training/Sequential with comments enabled, option to not show a comment again (during the current training session)

Fixed

  • Playing against any engine, Play as long as you make no mistakes mode, bad evaluation when playing with a starting position different from the standard position.
  • Databases, the movement of columns is not saved from one time to the next.
  • Databases, edit a game, "Help to move" this option is missing.
  • General configuration/Appearance 1+2/By default does not work.
  • Showing variations, the capture material is no updated.

  • System crash prevention when playing games (e.g. in case of power failure, the game played is included in the list of adjourns), option to enable or disable it is added in the Options/General configuration/General. By default it is activated.
  • Databases/Filter/Standard, two new conditions, is empty or not.
  • Saving PGN has added the option to include the seven standard tags.
  • eBoards (by Graham O'Neill): For Windows updated the BLE library to its latest version. For Linux replaced the SimpleBLE library with the ipWorksBLE.

  • Databases/Performance rating of a selection of games or all games. This is the calculated level of the players in a match/tournament.
  • Leagues, Games tab, right button launch a menu that allows to remove the game/result.
  • Databases, using CTRL-A to select records, warns that the process is too long in the case of more than 20000 records, giving the option to cancel.
  • 2.20c Databases, Config, Column configuration, shortcut = ALT+C, by executing the shortcut, it allows to directly select the saved configurations by name.

Added

  • New coordinate training: Unlike previous versions, this mode requires entering piece positions using the keyboard (coordinates only). There are 4 variations depending on the type and number of pieces/positions displayed. Once input begins, the board is cleared.
  • Show Rating (NAG): Can be activated by right-clicking on the PGN table while viewing a game. Useful for game analysis, it displays the rating for each move directly on the board.
  • Databases: When importing PGN files, users can now choose to remove comments and variations. This option is also available under Utilities/Remove Comments.

Fixed

  • Kibitzer on a line did not work.
  • Play option, problem where the application failed to start when using old configurations.
  • STS with the +Board option was not functioning correctly.
  • Databases, issue where changes made while editing a game in Databases were not saved if the edit window was closed using the "X" button.

  • Game analysis, new option to add tags to the game about accuracy.

  • Training positions, when it is a pre-solution training, comments are not shown at the end.

Updated

  • Eboards, by Graham O'Neill. Added Chessnut EVO driver. For most of the boards added an option on the Config screen to "Show possible moves". This will highlight the squares a piece can move to when it's lifted up. For some boards (Novag/Saitek/Square Off) it wasn't possible and for the DGT Pegasus it didn't work well as only one LED can light at a time. Added BLE support to the Certabo and Tabutronic boards.

Added

  • Stockfish, including 10 64-bit and 3 32-bit builds, each compatible with specific cpus. An automatic process is launched to select the fastest version compatible with the computer. From the Engines Configurations/Others, you can go through the process again.
  • 2.12c: Kibitzer of database games.
  • 2.12d: Parameter to set the margin of the pieces in each square, in General configuration/Board, from 0 to 20 pixels.
  • 2.12d: Training positions, new option to remove pre-defined solutions (temporally in this training).

Changed

  • Opening lines, shifted the board to the right, to improve the visualization.
  • In the movement table, the up arrow moves the cursor to the previous row and the down arrow to the next row.
  • Swiss tournaments. Changed and simplified the internal procedure for calculating pairings.
  • 2.12b: Analysing a game, in the creation of training on the basis of erroneous movements, the detection of these is done using the same system as in the pgn table.

Fixed

  • 2.12a: Training on a map does not work when STS positions are used.
  • 2.12b: Your daily test, shows only two alternatives.
  • 2.12d: Databases, edit any field with right button, to allow a tag in a set to be removed.
