## Summary - exclude the repo-owned devcontainer base image from Renovate's digest-pinning policy - preserve digest pinning for all other Docker dependencies ## Why The inherited `config:best-practices` preset enables `docker:pinDigests`. Renovate therefore treats the `latest` default used by `.devcontainer/Containerfile` as an unpinned Docker tag and creates PRs such as #813. This image is built, validated, and published by this repository. Keeping its developer fallback tag floating avoids a circular self-update PR after each publication, while regular CI continues to override it with the commit-specific locally built candidate. ## Validation - `jq empty renovate.json` - `git diff --check` - `renovate-config-validator --no-global renovate.json` - verified exactly one package rule matches `ghcr.io/marinatedconcrete/devcontainer-base` with `pinDigests: false` - [all nine regular checks](https://github.com/marinatedconcrete/config/actions/runs/30877792322) passed
